Determining how many people a table can seat varies by the size of table, style of table, the space between the table legs, and the size of your chairs/benches. You want to allow for 20-24" per person, so general sizing for our tables would be:
As a general rule of thumb:
48"L table seats 4
60"L table seats 4-6 (tighter fit for 6)
72"L table seats 6-8 (tighter fit for 8)
84"L table seats 8
96"L table seats 8-10 (tighter fit for 10)
108"L table seats 10-12 (tighter fit for 12)
120"L table seats 12 (tighter fit for 14)
For seating with chairs, you want to add 4-5" to the width of your chairs to determine how many a table can seat. Each of our tables list the spacing between the legs under the Details & Dimensions
section on the table listing page. An example would be:
Slim Tapered Leg Dining Table - 72"L x 36"D x 30"H has 60" between the legs.
Our
Farmhouse Wood Dining Chair is 16"W, so you would add 4" to the width of the
chair and then divide the space between the
table legs -60â, by 20" to get seating of three on each side and one on each end.
For bench seating, all of our
dining tables are listed with the corresponding
bench with the
sizing listed to fit between the table legs. Using the
Slim Tapered Leg Dining Table as an example,
you will see the
Tapered Leg Wood Bench listed with sizing that corresponds with the dining table: 58"L x 13"D x 18"H (fits 72" table). If you are interested in a bench in a
custom size or mixing and matching tables and benches, please

For spacing in your room, you want to make sure you have a minimum of 30-36â from the wall to the table. For the sides, if you have one side closer to a wall, you want to make sure you have a
minimum of 24â. If you are spacing it equally in a room, you want to have 30-36â from any wall to the table. For any side that may be considered a walkway, you
want a minimum of 30-36â. For banquet seating, you usually will have the table extend over the seat 3-6â.
