Determining how many people a table can seat depends on the size of the table, table style, the space between the table legs, and the size of your chairs/benches. You want to allow for
20-24" per person:

Seating with Chairs
For seating with chairs, you want to add
4-5" to the width of your chairs to determine how many a table can seat.
(For all of our tables, you can see the space between the legs under the Details &
Dimensions section on the table listing page.)
For example:
Our
Slim Tapered Leg Dining Table measures 72"L x 36"D x 30"H and has 60" between the legs.
Our
Farmhouse Wood Dining Chair is 16"W. Add 4" as recommended to the width of each chair to allow for enough seating space. That takes it to 20"W.
Therefore, 60" between the legs divided by 20" seating space gives you 3 seats on each side and 1 on each end, for a total of 8 seats.
Seating with Benches
For bench seating, all of our
dining tables are listed with the corresponding bench with the sizing listed to fit between the table legs.

With the
Slim Tapered Leg Dining Table, you will see the
Tapered Leg Wood Bench listed with sizing that corresponds with the dining table: 58"L x 13"D x 18"H (fits 72" table).

Room Spacing
For spacing in your room, you want to make sure you have a
minimum of 30-36" from the wall to the table.
If you have one side closer to a wall, you want to make sure you have a minimum of 24" for that side.
If you are spacing it equally in a room, you want to have 30-36” from any wall to the table. For any side that may be considered a walkway, you want a minimum of 30-36”.
For banquet seating, you usually will have the table extend over the seat 3-6”.
